  
Congratulations to all who participated in the 2008 Arthritis Walk!
The San Jose 2008 Arthritis Walk, chaired by Judy Jorgensen, was enjoyed by hundreds of walkers on Saturday, May 10. San Jose Walk Honoree Jimmy Garcia, an 8 year old with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, led the festivities accompanied by Sharkie, mascot of the San Jose Sharks. San Jose’s top fundraising teams included “Miles for Maya” led by Gloria Castro in honor of her granddaughter Maya, and “Lindsey’s Playgroup Pals” led by Andrea Burke in honor of Lindsey Fredericks.
National Arthritis Walk sponsors included Wyeth/Amgen, Enbrel, Triple Flex, Biomet, and Arthritis Today Magazine. Local sponsors included Abbott Immunology, O’Connor Hospital, San Francisco Magazine, The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Alcis, Genentech and Wal-Mart.

The Arthritis Walk® is the Arthritis Foundation’s annual nationwide event that raises awareness and funds to fight arthritis, the nation’s leading cause of disability. It is a tremendous opportunity to help improve the lives of the 46 million men, women and children doctor-diagnosed with arthritis.
